Clare May Ball will be taking place on Monday 18th June 2018, and is set to be a spectacular night. Working at the ball will be a great way to experience the event whilst getting paid and enjoying yourself. All roles available for working on the night of the ball will be for its full duration. Exact working hours and breaks will vary depending on your role; details of job descriptions and pay can be found below.

Job Descriptions

Area Coordinator £110

You will be responsible for the running of an allocated area of the May Ball on the night, including managing the workers within it. You will also be working closely with the committee to ensure that every aspect of the ball is running smoothly. You will need to be able to think on your feet, be organised and enjoy managing and working with other people. Experience working at previous May Balls is highly desirable, preferably in supervisory or committee roles.

Hours: 6:30pm-6:30am

Stage Manager £85

You will manage your designated stage throughout the night by ensuring that act changeovers are quick and efficient, that the timetable is adhered to and that headliner requirements are met. You will be managing the Ents Runners working backstage to aid these processes. Previous experience is highly desirable.

Hours: 7pm-5am

Ents Runner £74

You will be escorting the entertainment acts around the May Ball. You will have to make sure the timetable is adhered to and provide a warm welcome. You may also have to help cater to the requirements of the headliners. No previous experience is required.

Hours: 7:30pm-5am

General Worker £82

General workers will help with a range of tasks during the night under supervision of the Area Co-ordinator. Tasks will vary depending on requirements on the night. No previous experience is required.

Hours: 7pm-5:30am

Drinks Worker £82

You will be making and serving drinks to guests, and potentially working alongside professional bar staff learning to mix cocktails, as well as restocking the bars at the ball. No previous experience is required.

Hours: 7pm-5:30am

Food Worker £82

Food workers will work alongside professional caterers to serve the guests and ensure that food stalls are well stocked and running smoothly. No previous experience required.

Hours: 7pm-5:30am

Head Lugger £145

You will be in charge of both the set up and the clear up of the ball. You will have to attend a training day (probably in the week leading up to the ball) to learn where everything used during the ball is stored. Pre/post ball you will supervise teams of workers in order to facilitate an efficient set up and clear up the grounds.

You need to be organised, efficient and have good leadership qualities. Due to the importance of this role, previous experience is highly desirable.

You cannot attend any ball on the Monday night.

Hours: 11am-7.30pm on the 18th June and 5am-12pm on the 19th June

Setup Worker £65

Set up workers will help with pre-ball set up tasks under the supervision of the head lugger and may require heavy lifting (if you have any concerns about this, please get in touch). Queue jump will be given to those with a ticket to CMB.

Clearup Worker £55

Clear up workers will help with post-ball clear up tasks, under the supervision of the head lugger and may require heavy lifting (if you have any concerns about this, please get in touch).

You cannot attend any ball on the Monday night.

Hours: 5am-12pm on the 19th June
